CEREC

One Visit Dentistry - Save Time With CEREC at Texoma Smile Designs.CEREC

If you've ever suffered from broken or fractured teeth, then you have gone through the procedure of a temporary and then final crown. The intricacies of taking messy molds, sending them to third party labs and then trying to find the right time for patient and dentist to meet together again to have the restorations placed can sometimes take weeks. As a result, most individuals have to wait an average of one to four weeks to have their smiles improved through crowns. Thankfully, this scenario is changing at Texoma Smile Designs with the use of CEREC.

CEREC is a technological wonder that can create quality tooth restorations in only a fraction of the time that traditional ones are made. Through the implementation of Computer Aided Design technology and Computer Aided Manufacturing, a patient can literally have a broken tooth restored in about an hour.

Other advantages of CEREC include:

  • • A patient doesn't have to come back for a return visit after only one visit to the dentist.
  • • There's no need for a dentist to send impressions to a third party.
  • • The restorations are natural looking, metal-free, strong, anti-abrasive and plaque resistant.

During a typical session, Dr. Green will first apply a thin layer of reflective powder to the broken or stained tooth. Using a special camera, he will then take a picture. The resulting computer-enhanced photograph exhibits the exact minute details of the tooth that helps the computer design a new restoration right in front of patient eyes. Then Dr. Green bonds the restoration to the teeth. Not only can crowns be fashioned in about 10 minutes, but any single tooth restoration, including inlays, onlays & veneers.

Dr. Green strives to provide his patients with the most technologically advanced tools and materials in dentistry. CEREC is just another example of  his goal to provide his patients with quality restorations that take a minimal amount of your precious time. If you need a restoration in the form of a tooth-colored crown, inlay or onlay, we invite you to call the office of Dr. James Green today. You deserve the best.

I-CAT

ICATDr. Green and our clinical team invest in the technology and training to make your dental experience magnificent! The latest addition to our high tech practice is the Three Dimensional Computer Aided Tomography iCAT. This technology allows us to take 3-D images for accurate diagnosis and procedures. Having this technology in Wichita Falls saves patient’s travel time to Dallas, as well as reduces time to communicate results to the treating clinician. Following, read about the many other benefits of the iCAT:

  • • One 8 second scan provides 3-D data that is precise and undistorted.
  • • The patient is seated and in an open environment.
  • • Significantly less radiation than a medical CT scan (about 90 % less).
  • • Lower cost to the patient than a medical CT scan.
  • • No hospital appointment for the patient.
  • • Doctors can easily share the 3-D data using iCAT Vision viewing software.
  • • The 3-D imaging uncovers anatomically true information for orthodontic and TMJ patients.
  • • The iCAT allows for: Precise Dental Implant Analysis and Planning, Third Molar Extractions, Impactions, TM Joints, Supernumeraries, Airway Assessments, Panoramics, and Cephalometrics.

Imaging Sciences iCAT is the state of the art for TMJ diagnosis. Used in conjunction with the K-7 Myotronics Technology we provide the latest in TMJ diagnosis and treatment.

DIAGNOdent

DIAGNOdent allows us to accurately identify and fill cavities for our patients. Since any spot of decay can threaten the integrity of an entire tooth, detection is key in preventing a host of potential problems. In our practice, lengthy poking and probing are unacceptable. Cavities can hide along fissure lines or inside biting and occlusal surfaces. Further, mechanical exploratory methods are limited to finding only those cavities that are equal to or larger than the probe head. To make the process anxiety-free and comprehensive, we use DIAGNOdent, a revolutionary dental laser that finds cavities in the earliest stages.

DIAGNOdent technology uses a laser diode to inspect teeth, comparing reflection wavelength against a healthy baseline wavelength to uncover decay. Not surprisingly,
this technology quickly and precisely identifies even the tiniest bit of decay. This means shallower, simpler fillings, preserving more tooth structure, and providing a specific means of monitoring suspicious areas. DIANOdent is not an x-ray, so patients do not have to worry about radiation exposure.

Digital Dental Xrays

Using digital radiography, we can clearly identify all external and internal anatomical structures and accurately diagnose your dental problems. Even more amazing, we can immediately translate that information into a large, clear, accurate image, projected onto a monitor that patient and doctor can study together in the operatory. Digital radiography’s technology improves and simplifies the way we care for our patients’ teeth, resulting in better dental evaluations and treatment decisions. Digital radiographs help us help you.

Digital X-rays offer unparalleled benefits over traditional radiographs: they’re convenient, safe for the environment, provide a great opportunity for patient education, can be transferred and copied accurately, and best of all, they’re safer for our patients (with up to 90% less radiation than traditional X rays).

Digital Smile Imaging

When you decide to correct or enhance your smile, it’s often difficult to determine ahead of time exactly what kind of results to expect. After all, a smile is a pretty personal thing, and changing your smile can feel like changing your life. That is where cosmetic digital imaging comes into play. Digital imaging is computer software that allows us to take your digital photograph and manipulate it to reflect the procedures you’re considering. The result is a photo that shows you what your smile would look like after treatment.

The process is quite simple. Once Dr. Green has completed your oral exam and discussed your smile goals, a treatment plan will be created. You can even take a photo of the new smile home to share with family or friends!

Informed patients make wise decisions, and digital imaging allows you the opportunity to actually glimpse your future before committing to treatment.

Laser Dentistry

Lasers have transformed medical surgery offering minimally invasive alternatives to traditional scalpel incisions and sutured closures. Laser light is extremely efficient, producing very little heat as it acts on its target. This makes it ideal for oral surgery, since it seldom affects tissues other than those it targets. The laser provides precise control over the depth and extent of cutting, while simultaneously minimizing bleeding and sterilizing the treatment area.

At the same time, a laser can also harden dental materials, scan teeth to detect decay, vaporize decay and prepare teeth for fillings, and activate whitening gel to brighten smiles. Currently, dental applications include gum disease treatments, gum re-contouring, root canal cleaning, decay detection and elimination, bonding material curing and strengthening, incision cauterizing and tissue fusion, lesion reparation, biopsies, and super-fast teeth whitening procedures.

Myotronics TMJ Technology (K-7)

As an LVI Fellow and neuromuscular dentist, Dr. Green understands the importance of whole-mouth harmony. Your jaw joints, bones, muscles, and nerves rely on proper occlusion and alignment for optimal functions. Stress, heredity, injury, and a number of other factors can cause jaw joints (TMJ) to become misaligned. This irritates muscles and nerves, and many patients find themselves suffering with migraines, earaches, face and neck pain, jaw pain, impaired function, and habitual teeth grinding (called bruxism).

If you experience any of these symptoms, the trigger could be related to TMJ disorder. With state-of-the-art diagnostics and proven, minimally invasive neuromuscular therapy, Dr. Green can restore optimal jaw positioning and relieve your TMJ migraines and pain if this is the source of your problems.

The Wand

Patient comfort is one of our primary concerns, so we are proud to have integrated the Wand into our practice. CompuDent, which is the brain behind the Wand, is a computerized local anesthesia delivery unit. The Wand is actually the pen-like hand piece that administers the anesthesia.

Injections can be irritating for many reasons, but one pain factor is that the anesthesia is concentrated in a small area until it dissipates. Anesthesia administered too fast can also cause pain. Another irritation stems from too much tissue going numb, which can leave a patient drooling after an appointment.

CompuDent manages the flow and volume of anesthesia being delivered, and it also offers more accuracy for the area being numbed. The Wand, through which the regulated anesthesia flows, does not look or feel like a syringe. A drop of topical numbing agent first numbs the injection site, and then the needle creates a comfortable injection pathway.
